Give Back Classes
Every three months, bendy yoga runs a FREE ‘Give Back’ Class.
Having worked in the not-for-profit sector for a range of charities, I am all too aware of the hardship many people face. As a yoga teacher, I am equally aware (and the beneficiary of!) the huge rewards yoga can bring, both physically and mentally.
It is often the people who need yoga most that don’t get to go a class but yoga shows us that there is an underlying unity and connectedness among us all, no matter the race, religion, ethnicity or background.
The aim of the bendy yoga Give Back classes is primarily to give people who may not otherwise be able to come to yoga – for whatever reason – an opportunity to do so. These classes are also open to the wider community, including my past and present students, as a thank you for supporting my teaching journey. For this group, classes are donation-based.
We have previously supported The Big Issue Foundation and Hart Food Bank. The charity we will next support is Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice. My friend recently lost her husband to pancreatic cancer and Phyllis Tuckwell supported their family as they navigated their way through a confusing, painful and traumatic time. The charity’s belief that “every day is precious” also fits well with yoga – every day we have an opportunity to show up and be the best we can be.
Cost: Voluntary Donation (suggested amount £10), where 100% will go to Phyllis Tuckwell
Location: the bendy tent, 43 Florence Road, Fleet
